Mubahisa is an independent source of news and views about Muslims, derived from the academic and research community and made directly available to the general public. Mubahisa seeks to collaborate with and draw from the work of academics and experts researching Islam and Muslims. Importantly, Mubahisa seeks to decode their research and knowledge for use by the wider public. In short, Mubahisa is a platform for concerned individuals, scholars, activists and writers to create, share and engage the international Muslim community, and a global readership, in critical discussions of topics relating to Islamic affairs, thought and culture. In addition to written pieces, Mubahisa seeks to further enhance its platform by including visual art, film and poetry. In sum, our aim at Mubahisa is to dispel misconceptions and allow for a better understanding of Muslim affairs and complex Muslim issues. In turn, we hope for a better quality public discourse and conversation on Islam and Muslims. We welcome and encourage work from a diverse range of writers, producers and artists.
